Children's Ministry and Choir

Children's Ministry at St. Anselm

Children in choir robes.

God designed children to worship, too! We have opportunities for kids of all ages to be involved in our church family and learn God’s Word.

All adults working in our children’s ministries have completed the Ministry Safe certification.

During the Service

Nursery: Age 0-3

During our Sunday worship service, infants and toddlers (up to three years old), and their guardians are welcome to use the nursery room at the back of the sanctuary. During Holy Communion, we encourage all members of your family to go up for the Eucharist. Father Sean is always ready to offer a blessing over our little ones!

blue ROOM: Ages 4 - 7

The blue room serves as a refuge for folks whose kids need a break from the service. It is open at 11:45AM, and should coincide with the start of the sermon and continue through the end of the service.

Rules for the Blue Room:

1. Parents must accompany their children and are responsible for them at all times.

2. Only parents (or an adult relative) and children up to 7 years of age are allowed (unless otherwise permitted by Fr Sean).

3. Encourage quiet play. We did this to make some room outside the pew, but it is not a place for hanging out or conversation instead of engaging in worship.

We know that there are times when kids “melt down” are just having a bad morning, or just need a break from the heat or otherwise. We don’t want that to keep families from worship.  The goal is to help children transition into being in the congregation the full length of the service. We recognize that this happens gradually. Please help your children learn to worship. We hope this assists to that end. Thanks!

Acolytes: Age 9 and older

See it all up close! Are your older kids looking for a new way to be involved with the church? We’ll train children (age 9 and up) to be an acolyte (it’s not hard, we promise!), and they can serve during our Sunday worship as it fits their schedule.
