About St. Anselm Anglican Church
St. Anselm blossomed from a fellowship of people and a calling from God. In 2009, future members began meeting in a Lakewood home, and began to discuss the idea of an Anglican church in the area. After several years of prayer, preparation, and formation, Lakewood Anglican was dedicated as a mission of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA) in October of 2014.
In 2021, our mission officially became a parish and was granted the new name “St. Anselm Anglican Church” by The Rt. Rev. Mark Engel, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of the Great Lakes.
“Lakewood Anglican aspires to be a hope-filled community that welcomes all to join in the worship of God and in the reconciliation of all people to God, to city and to one another. We invite you to seek Jesus with us through the teaching of God’s Word, the beauty of the Anglican liturgy and the breaking of bread.”
Our beliefs
St. Anselm is a gospel-centered church, joining together weekly to worship God through the reading and teaching of His word, and to partake of Holy Communion. We belong to the Anglican Church of North America, joining together with the saints globally and historically in worship of the risen Christ.
our ministries
Our ministries follow the needs of our city and the passions God has placed in our congregation. We have a variety of small groups that meet to read, pray, and study. We desire to grow in our faith. We also work in Lakewood and the greater Cleveland area to help the homeless, families in need, and refugees.
Our leadership
The founding rector of our church is the Very Rev. Sean Templeton, who leads the congregation with the support of a dedicated staff, vestry, and lay ministry leaders.
